I would go back to school if I could get Tony Danza as my teacher

Ok so we all remember Tony Danza from Who’s the Boss? and my favorite, the awesome 70s tv series: Taxi. I haven’t been a fan of many of the things he’s tried later in his career, The Tony Danza Show, etc. But now he’s got a new gig, as you may have heard. He spends an entire school year as a 10th grade English teacher in a Philadephia school while cameras filmed him for the new A&E reality series, “Teach: Tony Danza.” I’ve heard a few people making fun of this show’s concept in a big way (understandable). BUT I’m going out on a limb here…I will watch at least one episode…. I think it’s just the way he says this at the end of the clip:

I want to be Mr. D, you know? They remember ya!

Ok Tony, we got your back on this one. But try to remember not to take yourself too seriously, ok? It’s still reality tv.

Confession: Joaquin is my number one celebrity crush of all time. You know when you have those conversations with friends that ask, “If you could marry one celebrity, who would it be?” Yeah, you get the idea. Oh wait, you don’t have those conversations? Ok, moving on. My point is I’m fascinated by all things Joaquin. Even when he plays the bad guy, like in Gladiator you can’t tear me away!

So naturally, with the release of this new preview for his film, “I’m Still Here,” I’m so curious!

“When Heath Ledger passed away in January 2008, he had no shortage of things he was working on.
(image: scrapetv.com) Just about everyone in the world, it seems, saw The Dark Knight, but he had smaller projects too. One of those was directing a music video for the band Modest Mouse, for their song “King Rat.”

The video, which is animated, is meant be a statement against modern whaling practices in Ledger’s home country of Australia. Sadly, Ledger died before he could complete the video, so The Masses, a film and music company Ledger was a partner in, stepped in along with co-director Daniel Auber to finish it.”

When it’s on iTunes, proceeds from the video will go towards the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, a non-profit focusing on marine wildlife conservation.

More proof Heath Ledger was taken from us too soon. It’s hard not to imagine how much good he could have done for the world had he remained in it just a little longer.

Capturing time periods realistically in film is challenging, to say the least. Having just seen the trailer for Peter Jackson’s new film, “The Lovely Bones,” based on the best-selling novel by Alice Sebold, we are happy to report that it is obvious that Jackson paid close attention to seventies details for this film. The Lovely Bones looks like it is going to be an amazing film!
“The Lovely Bones” centers on a young girl who has been murdered and watches over her family – and her killer – from heaven.
She must weigh her desire for vengeance against her desire for her family to heal. The film stars: Mark Wahlberg, Rachel Weisz, Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci, and of course, Saoirse Ronan as Susie. The The Lovely Bones
novel is wonderful – I highly recommend it if you haven’t read it.

Katie Holmes appears tonight on the FOX tv show, “So You Think You Can Dance,” …
performing the Judy Garland number, “Get Happy,” from the 1950s musical Summer Stock.
Katie Holmes says she is “very excited” about her upcoming singing and dancing homage to Judy Garland, airing on the 100th episode of So You Think You Can Dance Thursday. UPDATE: If you missed it, you can watch Katie Holmes performance here.

She told Entertainment Tonight,

“I like to sing and dance so it is really fun.”

Katie’s appearance on the show is to promote the Dizzy Feet Foundation, a nonprofit that “provides assistance to talented underprivileged youth.”

But what Katie Holmes appearance on So You Think You Can Dance REALLY has me wondering is who would/will make a better Judy Garland: Anne Hathaway or Katie Holmes? Obviously, I know Anne Hathaway is already set to tackle Judy Garland’s hits as part of the Weinstein Company’s planned adaptations of biographer Gerald Clarke’s 2001 book Get Happy: The Life of Judy Garland. But do you think she is the right choice?

Time for a Movie Star Style Flashback!

I’m fascinated by what makes people famous. Most of the time it’s a tv show, a movie or being the child of someone famous. And it doesn’t hurt to be exceptionally beautiful too! In Liv Tyler’s case, she is the daughter of Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler, and though she started modeling at age 15, she busted onto the scene in a big way in 1993 when she and Alicia Silverstone appeared together in one of the sexiest videos of all time: the video for the Aerosmith song Crazy!

Alicia Silverstone didn’t do too badly herself, considering she went on to star in the highly successful 1995 movie, “Clueless.”

The most touching and surprising moment of the Michael Jackson memorial service was at the very end when Michael Jackson’s only daughter, Paris Jackson (who was up to this point rarely seen and never heard), spoke up to honor her father Michael and say how much she missed him. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house:
