Here’s Taylor Momsen performing with her band The Pretty Recklessrecently onstage in London. Oh Taylor Momsen. I think you’re great but I can’t help it…when I see this pic it makes me want to pluck you off that stage, wrap you in a blanket and plunk you down in front of the tv to watch cartoons with a sippy cup and a handful of cheerios! I just think she’s too way too young to be acting this way: only 17 years old! I guess most of you will probably disagree with me. Tell me how you feel! Here’s the poll:

Eat, Pray, Loveyet? I haven’t but whenever a huge megastar like Julia Roberts comes out with a new film, I love to remember how they got their start. And how things would’ve been different if someone else had been cast in Pretty Woman. Like most of America, I suspect, I can’t imagine anyone else playing that role. This Flashback Friday is a tribute to Julia Roberts. Thanks for making movies for all these years!

Ok, I’m a little bit obsessed with Liv Tyler, I admit it. I think if I could choose to look like anyone other than myself for just one day, I’d pick Liv Tyler. I even dyed my hair dark brown for a whole year and tried to convince myself I could be mistaken for Liv Tyler by someone from very far away. So, it’s no surprise that Liv won best celebrity style look of the day, really. But honestly, doesn’t she have great style here? I love the all black ensemble: black tank top, black short, black tights, black ballet flats all topped off with this awesomely bold striped Givenchy jacket! Way to go Liv!

So I just rented and watched Hot Tub Time MachineI actually really liked it! One of my favorite roles was
Lizzy Caplan as the unexpected and almost-wasn’t-supposed-to-happen-love-interest of John Cusack’s character.

You probably are going to say WHO? Lizzy Caplan still floats below the radar most of the time due to her changing look and understated roles. But I really like it when the producers of a film seem to be thinking about what’s really best for the story when they are casting it. Lizzy was a great choice in this role. Understated and unapologetic, she’s not afraid to be herself with John Cusack’s character. It would’ve been nice to have seen even more of her character. Go Lizzy!

If you don’t know who Margarita Levieva is, you will soon! She’s starring opposite Ashton Kutcher in the movie “Spread.” And we predict we’ll see a lot more of her in the future…

“Margarita Levieva’s sultry slow-motion entrance in the summer-job comedy Adventureland, writer-director Greg Mottola’s follow-up to Superbad, is a sight to behold. Accompanied by the seductive groove of The Rolling Stones’ “Tops,” Levieva’s character Lisa P. paralyzes all male onlookers as she struts through an amusement park while savoring a snow cone. Although the Russian-born actress has little in common with the gum-chewing, hair-flipping Tilt-A-Whirl operator she plays in Adventureland, which is set in 1987, Levieva has made an equally strong impression on the press in New York, where she now is based. In 2005, New York magazine ran a full-page close-up of Levieva as part of its “50 Most Beautiful New Yorkers” feature. And last year, when New Yorker film critic David Denby reviewed Noise, a film in which Levieva played a Russian philosophy student opposite Tim Robbins, he wrote, “I would watch her in anything,” noting that she displayed “a fervent intelligence the likes of which we haven’t seen in American movies for years.”

Levieva (pronounced leveeva) is a former world-class rhythmic gymnast who grew up in communist Leningrad, now St. Petersburg. She immigrated to the U.S. with her mother and twin brother when she was 11 years old. Although she loved performing, she passed on an opportunity to study dance at New York’s Laguardia High School and went on to study economics at NYU, paying for her education by working as a fashion buyer. Ultimately, she committed to acting and was accepted into the Meisner Training Program at the William Esper Studio. In 2006, she starred in the Fox series Vanished, and the following year she played tomboyish Annie Newton, a lead character in the teen supernatural thriller The Invisible. The Sunday before Adventureland’s release, Levieva appeared on an episode of the NBC drama Kings, and she currently can be seen on Broadway in Impressionism, starring Jeremy Irons and Joan Allen. I spoke to Levieva by phone a few hours before an evening performance of Impressionism.”

Blink and you’ll miss Evangeline Lilly in The Hurt Locker but it’s still a must-see

Most of us know Evangeline Lilly from her role as Kate on the tv show Lost but she also has a small role in the film, “The Hurt Locker” that’s playing in theaters now.

I recently went to see this, expecting to see…’just another war movie.’ Well, I came away from seeing The Hurt Locker, thinking it was so good, I HAD to find a way to write a blog post about it (even though my blog has nothing to do with war movies!) So there you go. See it! And kudos to Evangeline Lilly for taking the small part of the wife of the main soldier, played by Jeremy Renner. She does a wonderful job and the story is so good, I’m glad she took the role. I wonder if any other ‘name’ actresses turned this part down because of how small it is but I have to say, it’s their loss. This film is a must-see:
